Beautiful sash windows win monthly competition
Inspire Windows are the latest winners of Synseal Group’s monthly installation competition with beautiful PVC-U sash windows, fitted with the original 1930s-style, rose patterned stained glass windows.
The homeowners have lived in this house in Cardiff for a number of years but were conscious of how much heat they were losing through the large, timber bay windows, so they contacted Inspire Windows to discuss how they might combat this issue with modern materials.
Rachael at Inspire Windows said:
“It was important to the customers to increase the energy efficiency of their home while maintaining the look of the house with run-through sash horns and ideally keeping the original stained glass, either by fitting replica stained glass or reglazing the originals.
“They were delighted with how well the old glass has been incorporated into the new windows and how the PVC-U windows could be sympathetically fitted into an older house.
“We have been installing PVC-U sash windows from Synseal’s Evolve range for a number of years and are always happy with the quality of the windows.”
The project was chosen as the winner of Synseal’s monthly competition as a great example of how to blend the old with the new.
While timber sash windows are still prominent in many older properties and heritage areas, PVC-U alternatives provide better thermal performance, are much easier to clean and maintain as they won’t need repainting, and won’t suffer from draughts and weather damage in the way timber windows commonly do.
In addition, Synseal’s Evolve VS range comes in a choice of woodgrain finishes with optional sash horns and Georgian or Astragal bars, making it easy to create a traditional look with all the modern benefits of PVC-U.
