WarmCore wins award for innovation

WarmCore wins award for innovation

The team behind the thermally efficient WarmCore technology at Synseal Group has won an award for innovation in advanced manufacturing.

The Made in the Midlands Awards, which took place last month, celebrate the most ambitious and innovative manufacturing companies operating in the Midlands.

Synseal Group came away the winner in the competitive Advanced Manufacturing Innovation category recognised for its WarmCore technology. Highlighted features included the unique thermal core, the cam lock system which allows for easy corner jointing, and the composite structure enabling dual colour in the same lead times as standard. Synseal Group was up against five other manufacturing companies including 920Engineering, who were highly commended, and Mereway Kitchens.

David Wigley, Head of Marketing at Synseal Group, who collected the award on the night, said:

We were really pleased to win the award for advanced manufacturing innovation as there was more competition in this category than any of the others. It’s a real testament to the hard work that the WarmCore team has put in to creating a high performance product that our customers love.

Products and Customer Services Director Steve Brown, whose team designed the WarmCore range, added:

We are immensely proud of the huge success WarmCore has had over the past 18 months since we first introduced the folding sliding door system. Since then we have also launched the window system including flush sash, tilt & turn and the new slim vent option, as well as a fixed roof light and the new inline patio system landing this summer.

All our WarmCore products are designed in-house by our research and development team who have decades of experience in the design of high performance products. No-one else on the market has a product quite like WarmCore, which competes aesthetically in the aluminium market while offering some of the best thermal benefits of PVC-U.

Event organisers praised Synseal’s real innovation in a highly competitive market, with developments that both set the business apart and made a real different to the bottom line.

Synseal Group was also shortlisted for the Apprenticeship & Training Scheme Award in recognition of its Lean Six Sigma Green Belt programme and the Manufacturer of the Year (turnover over £25m), which was won by egg producer LJ Fairburn & Son who were commended for more than doubling their turnover in the past year.

All the regional winners have been put forward to contend in the Made in the UK Awards being held on 22nd June, where WarmCore is up against seven other companies ranging from injection moulding experts and air filtration manufacturers to the world leader in MRI technology.
